UDP is a
communications protocol that makes possible the sending of
datagram messages from one computer to an application in
another computer. It’s connectionless and suffers from
unreliability, since it is unable to check for any errors in
delivery.

site, usually carried out over packet-switched networks.

Internet is a WAN.

This is a
digital, real-time camera used to deliver still and motion
video images over the Internet.

describes the placing of shared documents on a ‘whiteboard’
for other conference participants to work with. Several
users can write or draw on this area, which is displayed
onscreen. Like video conferencing, white boarding plays an
important role in teleconferencing, since it provides the
element of visual communication and collaboration.
- » WWW (World Wide Web)

It’s also known
as ‘the Web’, the WWW is technically ‘a hypertext
multimedia-based system’, allowing users to access the
Internet. Hyperlinks embedded in web pages allow users to
move from page to page.
- » Zoom

Many cameras
and graphical applications allow the user to magnify a small
area or shrink it so that more can be seen; this is known as
zoom.
